OBJECTIVES OF CULT  

The town Motru and the villages whom belong to it has the next objectives of cult:
  • 1 cathedral orthodox;
  • 6 orthodox churches;
  • 1 baptist church;
  • 1 catholic church;
  • 2 houses of prayers.

FOLKWAYS AND HABITS 
  • The frequentation of the jobs religious to churches, the rallies with occasion of religious holidays, the organization spousal, baptisms and funerals.
  • Local holidays, fairs, Romanian round dances, habits of across year, exorcism, the curse, popular songs and humorous.
  • Of the document of weather follows that inhabitant of the villages whom belong to town Motru were agricultural, stock breeders, fruit growers, specific habits geographic. These contexts habits to dictionary were joined, in last period with the new profession of mining.
  • The inhabitants are skilled in agriculture, mining and wisely craft (chisellers in wood, painters, brick-layers, carpenters, coopers, builders of houses). In the art of tissues they achieved against tables, towels, towel, curtains, rag of row silk utilizing the thin flaxen character, hemp, the cotton and row silk.

THE SHELTERS OF THE ZONE
  • The Shelter Glogoveanu (the year of the buildings - round of 1800) to 6 km of Motru on DN Motru Baia de Arama,in the commune Glogova;
  • The Shelter Cutui (the year of the buildings - round of 1815) to 10 km of Motru on DN 67 – Targu Jiu – Dr. Turnu Severin, in the commune Broşteni;
  • The shelter from the village Ercea, commune Cazanesti, on the valley of the river Cosustea, on a communal what road is intersected with DN 67 to the half of the distances among Dr. Turnu Severin Motru;
  • The Shelter Siacu from the commune Slivilesti (the year of the buildings - round of 1818), commune to S of the town Motru.
