Starting with 28 February 2002, it has been
stabilited the union project (the period is of 18 months) between the
member country ITALY and the candidate country Romania – Region Sud West
Oltenia.
THE INVOLVED INSTITUTIONS IN THE PROJECT OF UNION:
Contained in Developmental Region 4 South – West Oltenia, the
county Gorj is placed fractionally southern - west of Romania has a surface
of 5602 km2 and territorially administrative, divized in two towns Târgu-Jiu
and Motru, 5 towns and 63 commons.
The stable population of county Gorj is approximate 394. 570 Inhabitants,
the big majority is of Romanian nationality and of orthodox religion.
