The visit of the typics buildings named „CULES” from the surroundings of town Motru:
  • Glogoveanu Cule (year of building – round of 1800) to 6 km by Motru throught DN …. Motru – Baia de Arama, in commune Glogova;
  • Cutui Cule (year of building – round of 1815) to 10 km by Motru throught DN 67 – Targu Jiu – Dr. Turnu Severin, in commune Brosteni;
  • Cule from village Ercea, commune Cazanesti, throught the valley of river Cosustea, throught a comunal road who is intersecting with DN 67 at the half of distance between Dr. Turnu Severin – Motru;
  • Siacu Cule from commune Slivilesti (year of building – round of 1818), the commune from south by town Motru.

The Wine is the preferated drink produced and consumated on the Valley Motrului, never-failing from the menues of the restaurants, they is enjoying by the all appreciations. The most appropiated vineyard of town Motru is Corcova (at 15 km distance from Motru) where it can taste: Muscat Ottonel who it assorting perfect with the stick of pig, Corcovin (a wine specific of the zone, with curatives properties, like the Swedesh bitt). It can taste excellent wines and in particular vineyards where the variety of traditionaly grapes it's giving the birth of excellent aprecieted wines. Frequently utilized and the must, before ferment, with nutwoods, cub foods or pastrami with mush. 

The culinary habits of this zone it has kept in time knowing modifications and perfections of all times. In this way it was kept, for exemple, the tehnic of the preparations of food „at the test” in ground pots or the preparation of cub pickels (a soup with roasted chicken to barbecue). In the kitcken of zone is prepared a lot of vegetable soups, chicken, pig, meat of hunting and a cow meat, excellent apreciated been the pounch (soup of belly), the acidulated soups with juice of cabbage of juice of ruddy and a lot of verdure (with predilection parsley and savory) or the fish soup, it's utilized very much the salads, hreans and garlic. The specific preparations of the zone are chopped meat from Oltenia, the sausages from Oltenia, smallish to barbecue, sarmals in leafs of cabbage, frigars, shoat to tray, block of lamb, fishy brine. 

Folkway and habits:

  • The frecvent of the religious jobs to churches, meetings with the occasion of religious holiday, organisations of wedding, baptism and burials.
  • Fairs, religious holidays, Romanian dance, habits on round of year, charms, curses, popular songs and calls.
  • From the weather documents results that the inhabitants of the villages whom belong to city Motru were agriculturals, cowherds, fruit growers, specific habits of the geographic context. This habits were joined, in the last perioad with the new profession – mining.
  • The inhabitants are capable in agriculture, mining and housewifely jobs (engravers in wood, painters, bricklayers, joiners, coopers, builders of houses). The womans were vestited in tissues (chilimurs, tapestry, velinte, rugs, etc.). It has been prelucrated hemp counterpane, bags and wool frieze. In the art of tissue it has been realized faces of tables, towels, curtains, rag of row silk utilizing the thin character of in, hemp, the cotton and row silk.
